Nissan SUV Size Comparison: Smallest to Largest

Picking the right SUV size is one of the most important calls you’ll make before buying. Go too small and you’re constantly rearranging cargo before every trip. Go too big and you’re paying for space and fuel you never actually use. Nissan makes the decision easier by offering a complete lineup of crossovers and SUVs, and each model fills a specific role.

We carry every model right here at Miracle Nissan of North Augusta. This guide lays out the full lineup from smallest to largest so you can zero in on the right fit for your household, your commute, and your weekends on the water.

The Nissan SUV Lineup: A Quick Overview

Nissan currently offers five SUVs and crossovers for the 2025 and 2026 model years. Here’s the lineup in order of size:

  • Nissan Kicks® — Subcompact crossover built for efficiency and city driving
  • Nissan Rogue® — Compact SUV and Nissan’s all-time best seller for good reason
  • Nissan Murano® — Midsize 2-row crossover with a near-luxury feel at a non-luxury price
  • Nissan Pathfinder® — Midsize 3-row SUV built for families who need real seating and real towing
  • Nissan Armada® — Full-size 3-row flagship with maximum power, cargo, and towing capacity

Each one lands in a different price range and serves a different kind of driver. We break down all five below.

Nissan Kicks: The Smallest, and One of the Smartest

The Kicks got a complete redesign for 2025. It comes in with a wider stance, sharper styling, and a more powerful 2.0L four-cylinder engine rated at 141 horsepower. For drivers around Beech Island and Augusta who spend most of their time on surface streets and shorter runs, this thing was made for you.

It finally adds an available all-wheel drive option, too, which matters when fall storms roll through the CSRA and the roads get slick. Standard features on the base trim include a 12.3-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and Nissan Safety Shield 360® (automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, and rear cross-traffic alert, among others). You get a lot of vehicle for around $21,830 starting MSRP.

Maximum cargo space stretches to around 60 cubic feet with the rear seats folded. Fuel efficiency comes in at an estimated 28 MPG city and 35 MPG highway on FWD models. If gas prices are part of the calculus — and for most buyers they are — the Kicks keeps those costs genuinely low.

Good fit for: commuters, first-time buyers, smaller households, and anyone who wants to keep monthly costs manageable without giving up solid tech and safety features.

Nissan Rogue: The Best Seller With Staying Power

Nissan sold more than 140,000 Rogues in the first half of 2024 alone. That kind of volume doesn’t happen by accident. The Rogue earns it by giving buyers exactly what they need without making them pay for what they don’t.

It seats five and delivers 36.5 cubic feet of cargo space behind the rear seats, expanding to 74.1 cubic feet with everything folded flat. The available Divide-N-Hide® cargo system offers six different storage configurations, so it works just as well for a Costco run as it does for a weekend trip to Clarks Hill Lake.

Under the hood, the 1.5L Variable Compression Turbo engine puts out 201 horsepower and returns an EPA-estimated 29 MPG city and 36 MPG highway on FWD models. That’s genuinely competitive fuel economy for a compact SUV with this much room. Available Intelligent All-Wheel Drive is there when Carolina weather decides to get interesting.

The 2026 Rogue earned an IIHS Top Safety Pick designation and a 12th consecutive Consumer Guide Best Buy award. Twelve years in a row is not a streak you build on luck.

Good fit for: families, daily commuters, and buyers who want the best combination of interior space and fuel efficiency in a compact package.

Nissan Murano: Midsize Comfort With a Premium Edge

The Murano occupies a spot that’s harder to find than it sounds. It’s a midsize, two-row crossover that competes on comfort with vehicles costing thousands more. The 2025 redesign made a strong case for it, delivering an Italian Murano glass-inspired dashboard, available quilted massaging front seats, and a dual 12.3-inch monolith display setup that makes the cabin feel genuinely upscale.

A 3.5L V6 engine produces 260 horsepower and pairs with an Xtronic transmission. Front-wheel drive models return 21 MPG city and 28 MPG highway. The Murano trades a bit of the Rogue’s efficiency for noticeably more refinement in ride quality and cabin materials. For buyers who spend a lot of time behind the wheel, that trade-off makes sense.

Cargo space maxes out at 67.0 cubic feet. Passenger volume sits at 108.1 cubic feet. For couples, smaller households, or anyone who wants near-luxury without crossing into luxury price territory, the Murano starts around $40,470. The 2025 Murano earned the IIHS Top Safety Pick+ designation, the institute’s highest rating.

Good fit for: couples, professionals commuting into Augusta or working at Savannah River Site, and empty nesters who want a comfortable daily driver with weekend capability.

Nissan Pathfinder: Three Rows, Real Towing, Built for Families

When your household needs more seats and more capability, the Pathfinder is where the Rogue hands off the baton. This is Nissan’s three-row midsize SUV, and it carries seven or eight passengers depending on whether you go with the standard bench seat or the available captain’s chairs.

Third-row riders actually fit here. The Pathfinder gave its third row extra legroom in a recent update, a detail that matters the moment you’re loading up for a family road trip to Atlanta, Savannah, or the South Carolina coast.

The 3.5L V6 produces 284 horsepower and 259 lb-ft of torque. Towing capacity reaches up to 6,000 pounds, which covers a boat on Lake Thurmond, a travel trailer, or a utility haul without breaking a sweat. The available Intelligent 4×4 system includes seven drive and terrain modes, including Mud/Rut, Sand, Snow, and Tow.

Maximum cargo space stretches to 80.5 cubic feet with all rows folded. Fuel economy comes in at an estimated 21 MPG city and 27 MPG highway. The 2025 Pathfinder earned the IIHS Top Safety Pick+ award.

Starting around $36,400, the Pathfinder costs less than the Murano while delivering more seating, more towing, and three-row versatility. That pricing structure surprises a lot of buyers.

Good fit for: growing families, military households moving gear and people, and buyers who tow regularly and need a vehicle that works equally well on school pickup and on the trail.

Nissan Armada: The Flagship. Full Size. Full Power.

The Armada is the largest vehicle in the Nissan lineup. At over 209 inches long and 76.5 inches tall, it leaves no question about which vehicle is in charge of the parking lot.

The 2025 model brought a major update under the hood. Nissan replaced the previous V8 with an all-new 3.5L twin-turbo V6 that produces 425 horsepower and 516 lb-ft of torque, paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission. The new engine outperforms the old one in nearly every measurable way, including towing capacity, which hits up to 8,500 pounds. That covers full-size boat trailers, horse trailers, and loaded utility hauls without pushing the vehicle anywhere near its limit.

Ground clearance measures 9.6 inches, better than the Pathfinder’s 7.1 inches. An available 3D camera system and wide-angle front view make maneuvering this large a vehicle much more manageable than you’d expect. Cargo space ranges from 32.9 cubic feet with all rows up to 92.6 cubic feet fully loaded.

Three rows seat seven or eight passengers with genuinely comfortable room across all three. Interior tech includes over 28 inches of combined screen space and available adaptive air suspension on higher trims. The Armada earned a 2026 Consumer Guide Best Buy award. Starting around $57,520, it costs more than the rest of the lineup. It also delivers more than the rest of the lineup.

Good fit for: large households, heavy towers, military families managing a big PCS move, or anyone who needs maximum space without stepping into a luxury brand’s pricing.

How to Choose the Right Nissan SUV for Your North Augusta Lifestyle

The right size depends on three things: who’s riding with you, what you’re hauling, and how far you’re driving.

  • If you’re a daily commuter or smaller household: The Kicks or Rogue covers you. Both deliver strong fuel economy, modern safety tech, and enough cargo space for real-world use. The Kicks keeps monthly costs lower. The Rogue adds more room and power for a bit more money.
  • If you’re a growing family or military household: Look hard at the Pathfinder. Three rows, strong towing, real ground clearance, and a price that’s more accessible than most buyers expect. If you need more raw power or more towing on a regular basis, the Armada steps in.
  • If you want a more refined daily experience: The Murano earns that conversation. It won’t haul a boat or seat eight, but it delivers a cabin experience and ride quality that the Rogue and Kicks can’t match. Professionals commuting into Augusta or over to Aiken often find it’s exactly the right call.
  • If you need maximum capability: The Armada is the answer. It’s a serious vehicle for serious needs. Large families, regular towers, and anyone who genuinely uses every square foot of cargo space will find it hard to argue with what it brings.
